Spiritually hungry or thirsty? I’m not surprised. I feel like the girl in the picture looks way more often than I should. But help is here, and neither of us needs to feel like this. We have a choice to keep starving or to be fully satisfied and refreshed!
Here’s what I mean.
Help is here, but sometimes we let ourselves get so lost in our pain that we don’t see it. Or we recognize help when things are going better, but we don’t think we need it then. Perhaps, we’re afraid to or don’t know how to trust–even during the good times. Finally, we seem to lose hope of help when we’re struggling with what seems to be an inescapable pattern or negative situation.
I understand. Right now, friends I truly love are grieving the most terrible losses that it may seem help is far away. Painful hurts long past sometimes haunt and taunt us even today, making it difficult to risk trying to connect again.
I just went through what I call a forced job loss after my husband had the same experience with his career of thirty-one years. I’m sure you have your own challenges like this, or worse.
Basically, life isn’t what we think it should be. But Help is here, according to Psalm 46:1, and no matter what we’re going through, He does not change. He is outside of us.
So what are your thoughts? Do you have questions? Where does help come from for you? Post a comment, and we’ll talk soon.
