What is flash fiction?

What is flash fiction?

It’s a short story that packs a punch.  I mean that in the best possible way, of course. While some flash fiction may tend to be cynical, since it can explore the painful ironies of life, I want to encourage you.

So my little 1,000 word flash of budding historical romance keeps you guessing until the end; then the special little twist gives you a smile.

Because these short stories only take about seven minutes to read, flash fiction fills those boring time gaps through which we all suffer. You know, when you’re stuck in the grocery line and you end up reading those bizarre magazine headlines?waitingflashfiction

Well, now you’ll have something far more pleasing to do.

As you can tell by a couple of these unique pictures, I had a lot of fun with every aspect of “Music to His Heart.” Not only is it my first flash fiction piece, but it’s also part of a series of PREQUEL sketches that set you up for Starving Hearts, Annette’s love story.

What did you like most? Do you think the young lady has done something wrong? If so, would she tell the gentleman?

Janine, Previously, I subscribed and now receive your postings. I received the notification that I had downloaded your flash fiction successfully. I have since tried several times to find it in my computer and am unsuccessful. All my other downloads are where they belong, so I don’t know what happened.

Can you send it without my going through the subscribing tab again?

I hope I am also on the list to receive notice when Starving Hearts: Annette’s Story comes out.

    Thanks,
    Peggy

I hope this didn’t cause too much inconvenience, Peggy. I just sent you a file with the story. And, yes! I certainly have you on my list to receive advanced notice for my book. Blessings, Janine

Is there another book after Starving Hearts? I read a couple chapters every night after my prayers. I really enjoyed this one. You are a good Christian writer.

Hello, Patricia! Your words were such a blessing to me. Thank you! I’m writing Book #2 right now, literally. The working title is Never Past Hope. When you get to the last page of Starving Hearts, there’s a special gift for you. Thank you for your encouragement, and come back again. Maybe my blogs will interest you while you’re waiting. Blessings, Janine
